Our approach to environmental management is avoid or, where this is not possible, minimise our impacts on the environment, while contributing to lasting environmental benefits across.
We use renewable energy, like solar power, instead of diesel generators (where applicable) for water pumping. This results in a cheaper long term cost and no damage or pollution to the environment.
Avoiding environmental impacts
We minimise our use of fertilisers and pesticides and use organic products whenever possible.
We collect our own rain water and test it for contaminants on a regular basis. Collecting our own water helps keep running costs down and we have several mega litres of storage.
We have been working on connecting forested areas on the farm to allow native species corridors to travel through. Having habitats for insects and animals helps with pest control as many predatory insects (that prey on pest insects) live in long grass and wooded areas surrounding our crops.
