Cannabis 101
What the research says:
In total, 545 different compounds have been isolated, of which 104 belong exclusively to Cannabis. Human endocannabinoids and plant cannabinoids, such as THC and CBD, bind to the receptors with great specificity, much like a lock and key. Activation of the cannabinoid receptors inhibits the release of neurotransmitters, often referred to as the body’s chemical messengers.
The Endocannabinoid system also plays a key role in homeostasis (the body’s ability to maintain stability) and regulates many physiological processes such as inflammation, pain perception, immunity, neuropathy and metabolism.
